Erlach St. Peter’s Island

The island is a real paradise for nature lovers, hikers, cyclists, boat tourists and actually for everyone. It is car-free and can only be reached by land via a single, very dusty heathland path. On the island you can let yourself be pampered in the monastery hotel or prepare your own food at one of several well-kept barbecue areas. The landscape is lush green and the view of the nearby mainland is a real eye-catcher.
I recommend walking or cycling one way to the island, then using a scheduled boat or water taxi for the return or onward journey.
Once you should have paid the island a visit.
Danger! Be warned if you start your way from Erlach over the headland to the island. The path is very dusty and a real dry spell in summer. Afterwards you will be rewarded like paradise.
