Sant'Anna di Stazzema is a village in Tuscany (Italy) in the municipality of Stazzema (province of Lucca). It became internationally known by a massacre committed by troops of the Waffen-SS on 12 August 1944 and its legal processing.

Mountain biking

The Ossuary Monument which collects the remains of the victims, designed by Tito Salvadori, was inaugurated in 1948 and is characterized by a 12-metre high stone tower with four arches. At the center of the monument is the sculpture in local stone, the work of Vincenzo Gasperetti, which depicts a mother holding her little daughter killed by Nazi-fascist fire to her chest.
