Lake Bâtca Doamnei (Swan Lake)

Batca Doamnei Lake is located at an altitude of 325 meters and is an important element of the city of Piatra Neamt because in addition to the purpose of protection, it also offers wonderful views. From here, you can admire on one side the panorama of the city, and on the other side, Mount Ceahlau in all its splendor.
Batca Doamnei Lake, together with Pangarati and Vaduri Lakes, is a special area for birds moving on the eastern Carpathian migration corridor and is an important link in preserving biodiversity and natural habitats for the entire eastern part of the European continent. The lake, due to its large surface, offers wintering conditions to a large number of birds. In recent years, on this lake have wintered populations of black-necked crocodile, red-necked crocodile, large window, mottled window and small window. Besides these species, in November, you can see on Lake Batca Doamnei specimens of large cormorants that land here during migration.
