The Rearguard Falls are famous for salmon migration. The almost 1,300-kilometre-long migration of salmon from the Pacific Ocean up the Fraser River to spawn ends at the foot of the falls. Only Chinook, the largest and strongest salmon, make it that far up. In late summer, they can be observed here.

This is where the strongest salmon come to spawn, 800 miles from the Pacific.
