The rat-catcher town of Hameln is known worldwide as the home of one of the rather gloomy fellows of German fairy tales, the Pied Piper of Hamelin. From May to mid-September, everything is in line with this legend, which comes to the Pied Piper outdoor game on numerous dates alive. The revival of this legend can be found in the context of the Weser Renaissance and half-timbered style old town with its mysterious streets.

It is best to visit Hameln in good weather when you can sit outside in front of the restaurants. You chill with ice cream or coffee and cake and watch the hustle and bustle. Most of them are volunteers for fun, you can see scowl. Hameln is the "metropolis" of the Weser region and has almost Mediterranean flair. I can not remember how many times I've been here ....

The city is characterized by many half-timbered houses, which have been renovated and re-established in recent decades. The Osterstraße is the largest pedestrian area and offers some restaurants and cafes. It is recommended to explore the whole city center. The beautiful little streets invite you to explore and are very well suited for a break on a bike ride. The shopping is not too short. If you feel like visiting the "City Gallery" - stadt-galerie-hameln.de.
The visit of the Klüt should also be planned, it is worthwhile in any case. From the Klütturm the view is very good and also beyond Hameln.

Hamelin, named after the story of the Pied Piper who was cheated out of his pay and avenged himself in his way by kidnapping the children of the city.
