The church was mentioned in documents as early as 1396 and again in 1429.

During the great fire in 1637 the church was almost completely destroyed. Lack of money forced the congregation to refrain from rebuilding the tower for the time being, which brought ridicule and malice.

In 1891 the new church tower was inaugurated. With a height of 56 meters it proudly looks out over the land. Even the city shows the church building as a sight to the visitors.

In the middle of the city center is the church of Lucka. It was dedicated to St. Pancratius.

Pankratius is one of the three Ice Saints. According to legend, he was the son of a wealthy Phrygian from the Synnada area and, according to legend, was brought to his uncle in Rome when he was fourteen orphaned. There he was soon beheaded for his faith under the rule of Diocletian or Emperor Valerian.

The St. Pankratius Church in Lucka was first mentioned around 1396. Then again 1429.

In 1637 the church was destroyed by fire. Due to lack of money, the church was initially built without a tower. That brought a lot of ridicule.

The tower was not built until 1891, so that the current structural form of the church has existed since then.

As a special feature, the church also includes a life-size alder wood crucifix from 1649 above the altar and a Kreuzbach organ.
