This capitulary house at Spitalstrasse 8, which dates back to 1744 and was once the scholaster's home and office, dates back to a building ninety years older than it. A relief of the Madonna stands high above the entrance, which is accessible via an open staircase. The building, which today houses the "Johann Melchior Dreyer Municipal Music School", was the town hall of Ellwangen around 1862 and from 1938 to 1989.
