Section of the Hermann-Lenz-Weg between Jagsttal and Schlossgraben of Langenburg Castle.

"The next day he went down into the valley. He was happy because he was lucky with the weather. The path sloped downhill on the slope and was yielding from dark brown, almost black foliage. In between, bright limestones shone. Bird songs echoed in the trees A wall was covered with thick moss, and when a path branched off, the forest was cleared. [...] Now it was still cool and damp because it had rained during the night.

Then a sloping, steep path that he came down quickly. Slow steps, still in the leaf shadow where the path led to. And he came outside on an embankment. At the edge of the forest there was meadowfoam in bloom, which had become rare, whereas in childhood it had shown its purple flowers everywhere. They were reminiscent of lilacs. [...] The forest stood above the valley, the river passed, frothy and swollen. There was no roof anywhere. "

The writer Hermann Lenz (1913-1998) describes his impressions of this path in his story "Zwei Frauen" (1994). It is not certain whether he actually walked it exactly that way, there is also the Regenbacher Steige that runs across it. In any case, he was out and about a lot here and left impressive narrative pictures of this landscape.
