The idyllic location in a park, the splendid dimensions of the area with its ancient beech trees and the listed, typically Schleswig-Holstein mansion put any film set in the shade.
Gut Osterrade embodies the authentic combination of modernity with a long, eventful history.

Already in the Middle Ages there was an estate in the immediate vicinity: Dosenrade. To the east - and this explains the name - a new property was built in the 16th century: Osterrade, built well before the Thirty Years War on a clearing in the forest.
In the annals there are first references to a manor house in 1587, i.e. 430 years ago, which is described as an elongated, single-storey building with a tiled roof and corner towers.
