The Hollerturm used to be called the Torture Tower. This is so called in council minutes of 1802. It used to be called Fröllenturm. How the name Torture Tower came about can no longer be determined. Dietfurt never had the right to torture, all serious offenses were subordinate to the imperial district court Hirschberg, which, however, repeatedly held court days in Dietfurt.

The "Kunsttürmler" are a group of Dietfurt artists. The Hollerturm and the house directly adjacent to it have been made available to the "Kunsttürmler" since 2010. There are various events such as exhibitions and the open day, which is always held on a specific topic.
The dragon fountain, created by the Dietfurt artist Ute Mühlbauer, has been standing next to the Hollerturm since 2007. On special occasions, this dragon will spew "blood" instead of water!
