Giebel is a forest farm on the western edge of the Drömling. From there you get to the nature reserve with many beautiful spots where you can enjoy nature in its purest form. Since the soil there contains a lot of water, the paths are sometimes muddy - so make sure you wear appropriate footwear :).
DANGER:
There are a lot of oak trees in the area of Giebel and Kaiserwinkel, both of which belong to the municipality of Parsau. For years people have been fighting there against a pest insect, the oak processionary moth. At certain times, especially in the second quarter of the year, the air is saturated with the stinging hairs of these animals. Contact with these stinging hairs can cause severe allergic reactions to the skin or irritation to the respiratory tract. Unfortunately, since environmental protection seems to be more important than human health, only partially effective measures are being taken to combat this insect.
