It took a long time until this cycle path, which runs parallel to the federal highway 244, was finally built. Riding a bike on the federal highway was always an adventure. The path is completely paved and can therefore be driven on very well.
ATTENTION for allergy sufferers:
In certain weeks between April and June, the towns of Parsau and Rühen, where there are many oaks, have to contend with the oak processionary moth, whose stinging hairs can trigger allergic skin or respiratory reactions. The nests hang in the trees - from there these stinging hairs are distributed. Since the Drömling nature reserve begins in the immediate vicinity and no control measures are (may) be carried out there, this challenge arises every year. Unfortunately, environmental protection is placed here above the defense against dangers to human health.
