In 1846, as part of the expansion of the Lahn, a lock was built in the district of Ahausen at the Löhnberger weir opposite the Löhnberger mill. It was rebuilt in connection with the new construction of the large mill in 1882/83 (monument topography). The lock is still in operation today and has recently been used primarily for boat tourism. It was placed under monument protection for historical and technical reasons.
