Hiking
Here is a quiet place with even a small climbing area. It is the Weidenberg quarry of the middle red sandstone formation. It certainly served to extract building sandstone. Such quarries are very numerous in the Ebergötzen area. The next is a few 100 meters further south, hidden in the undergrowth. To the southeast in the wooded flank of the Haspelberg is the largely backfilled Grebens Bruch. The boy scouts' tent camps used to take place here.

This is the Weidenberg quarry. It is one of many quarries in the Ebergötzen area. A particular attraction of the Weidenberg is the heather character with its beautifully grown pines (Pinus sylvestris).
