The Blankenberg paper factory is now a museum in Blankenberg with the name "Old Blankenberg Paper Factory". This area monument is freely accessible and absolutely worth seeing. Ferdinand Traugott Flinsch introduced mechanical paper production in Blankenberg in 1843, and in 1894 the plant was sold to Gotthelf Anton Wiede, the owner of the Wiedes paper factory in Rosenthal in neighboring Blankenstein. Until 1993, the "old paper factory Blankenberg" was still producing paper.
