The Chalbersäss is not suitable for beginners but offers a lot of variety and fun for advanced riders. Above the tree line, the section is rocky, with lots of loose rubble and a few hairpin bends. As soon as you approach the forest, it becomes a little less steep and the many stones disappear.
But that doesn't make this section any easier, because the trail is ridden with roots and often slopes down to one side. This section is difficult or almost impossible to ride, especially when it's wet.
At the end of the trail, things calm down and there's a flowing forest section with lots of grip. Before you end up on the gravel path and roll comfortably back to the Gotschnabahn. A dream trail with an addictive factor...

Very slippery in the middle part when wet, sometimes very difficult to drive. And the middle part stays wet for a long time.
But highly recommended, fun trail

This trail is extraordinarily fun to ride. The first part of it (from Gotschnagrat) takes you through rocky an technically-demanding twists still above the tree line. Riders must possess great control of their bike as the rock is lose and very bumpy. The second part of the trail (inside the forest) is extremely rooty. There are roots coming out of everywhere, in every angle and direction. Extremely fun to ride. Technically challenging, especially when wet. This trail is **not** for beginners. After you finish this trail, you will be rewarded with a glorious feeling of satisfaction after conquering this beast.
I would not ride this when wet.
