The castle in Mirów, resembling a boat in its shape, is one of the oldest defensive structures in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. The Mirów fortress probably initially served as a guardhouse for the main stronghold located in Bobolice, 1.5 km away. The facility was built in the middle of the 14th century. It was destroyed during the Second Northern War. In 1787 the facility was finally given up. Source: Wikipedia list of eagle nests
