The castle Hardenberg, also called front house, is the private residence of the Graf von Hardenberg family built in 1709 in Nörten-Hardenberg near Northeim. The castle was moved to 1710, when the nearby castle Hardenberg had to be abandoned because of dilapidated as a residence. Unlike the rest of Hardenberg, the castle is not used for tourism. The Hardenberg covers the entire count's country estate. There is a riding arena, where annually the international horse shows around the "Golden Whip" are held and the grain distillery Hardenberg-Wilthen. (Source: wikipedia.de)
The park existed in 1710 originally only as a small, baroque facility on the back of the castle. Only Friedrich Carl von Hardenberg (1696-1763), the oldest son of the founder, built the castle park with foreign trees and avenues on the hilly terrain. (Source: info box at the castle entrance)
The castle and parts of the directly adjacent park are not accessible to the public. The castle park is according to the sign at the entrance gate (as of June 2017) from 08:00 - 20:00 clock to commit.
In the park you will find sculptures of the artist Christel Lechner, the "everyday people" - seeming almost lifelike from afar.

Everything is very nicely laid out and kept in good condition.
