Bike Touring Highlight
On the Lichtetalschneise in the Schwanheimer forest stands the "oak with monster children": three huge acorns made of wood lie under a tree. The installation is based on a design by the Frankfurt caricaturist F. K. Waechter (1937-2005) and is part of a series of comical tree art that can be found in various places in the city forest. Waechter, one of the well-known representatives of the so-called “New Frankfurt School”, left the city of Frankfurt with the drawings of objects in and on trees, linked with the cunning requirement to implement some of them in the green belt.

Under an oak tree on the edge of the Schwanheim forest lie several huge - immensely large - wooden acorns: the monster children. A great opportunity to explore the forest floor with children and collect acorns and beechnuts.
