The hamlet of Ernsttal was formerly called Neubrunn. The name comes from "New Fountain" which is the same as "new spring". The hamlet of Ernsttal with its 701 hectares is located west of Mörschenhardt in the Gabelbachtal on the Teufelsbach stream coming from Schloßau.
