The foundation stone of the church was laid on the festival of Christ the King, October 29, 1967. The construction had become necessary because the old church at the Lohrbach moated castle had become dilapidated and too small. The midnight mass on Christmas Eve 1966, when part of the ceiling collapsed and fell into the aisle when the room was fully occupied, will not be forgotten. This collapse triggered the rebuilding of the church, which could already begin in the summer of 1967.On Palm Sunday 1969, the Holy of Holies and the Virgin Mary statue were transferred from the old to the new church in an impressive procession. The statue of the Virgin is still over at the Marien Altar today. Exactly 2 years after the laying of the foundation stone, the new Church of St. Paul was consecrated by Auxiliary Bishop Karl Gnädinger. The ground plan of the church is a square with cut corners, over it a gable roof, a square, folded in the middle and placed on two pylons, which support the roof with a weight of 110 tons of steel. Mr. Ullmann from Buchen was the architect.
The interior is very bright, the windows clear, so that "all the world" - i.e. the village and the surrounding nature - are included in the services.
