A mixture of gravel and farm track which can be muddy in winter most of which you can avoid . Great views over fields to Duncombe Terrace. A gravel bike is fine for this segment but if heading to Ashridge it gets steeper with shallow steps.

A nice route to ascent/descend to Ashridge. Steep in parts with shallow steps which you can ascend by aiming for the sides on a gravel bike. The lower section has great views over fields to Duncombe Terrace. Fine on an MTB, it will test your skills on a gravel bike over the steps but it possible by taking care and choosing your line
