About foxy44
Living in Leighton Buzzard I have explored much of the surrounding area by bike and on foot. Most of my komoot routes are by cycle but I have a long history of mountain walking as well. I enjoy cycling on countryside roads, tracks, and bridleways on my road bike and gravel bike.

After an unencouraging Wednesday afternoon of epic rainstorms, eight of us were rewarded with a lovely evening ride around eastern Leighton Buzzard in the fading light.

Nice ride with Andy in the Chilterns, blustery at times, with a tailwind home

It was a lovely ride through Passenham, Wicken and Cafe Belge. Passenham is a village with a rich history, particularly its water mill. A water mill was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, and the mill went through various rebuilds and upgrades over the centuries. By 1914, the mill was still in operation, but it was offered for sale in 1918, marking the end of its working era. At that time, it was described as being in working order, with two wheels driving four pairs of grinding stones, along with a house and land..

That was a blowy day out there, wasn't it. Ashridge and the Downs were "interesting" to say the least.
