After the foundation stone was laid on June 4, 1950, construction of the new church began on March 19, 1952. The property was donated by the innkeeper Andreas Schmitz, in whose honor the patron saint of St. Andreas was chosen. The window above the portal was created by the glass artist Gustav Funders. On June 12, 1953, the church was consecrated by Auxiliary Bishop Friedrich Hünermann, and on October 16, 1955, the congregation became independent
