Benches with a View of Fockbeker See

In direct neighborhood to the district town Rendsburg lies the Armensee in the municipality Fockbeck. Also known as Fockbeker See or Seemühlensee, the name has its own story.The lake belonged to the city of Rendsburg until 1989. But already in the 16th century, there was a dispute over the fishing rights on the lake between the city and settlers settled on the lake. However, the city Rendsburg could refer to the memorial book from the year 1495, which regulates that for the benefit of the poor of the poorhouses of the city Rendsburg the sole right to fish is entitled. This is how the name of the lake came to be.

Here you'll find a bench overlooking the lake and a dog bathing area. The lake is also known as the 'Poor People's Lake'.
