At this point there are information boards about the lake, set up by the Schwartau Water and Soil Association. There is also a nice bench and a good view of the lake for free.
In 1840 it was drained by a pumping station so that the area could be used for agriculture. The lake has been back since 2004.

Hiking

The Dodauer See had once disappeared - drained with a pumping station. So it could be used as grassland. Fortunately, it was renatured as part of the construction of the B76 bypass around Eutin. Since 2004 the lake has been in a new beauty again. The nearby street hardly disturbs the idyll. There is an observation point at the western end. There you can find more information about the lake and the measures.
