For hundreds of years, clear water has flowed from a spring, and since the 15th century, it has flowed into a sandstone basin that still exists today. This inexhaustible spring was used by the residents of Amöneburg to wash their laundry until the 19th century.

Legend has it that Saint Boniface baptized the first Christians of the region here.
