The path was opened in 2005 for the 20th anniversary of the observatory between the town hall in Gondelsheim and the observatory - it is 2 km long and depicts the distances of the planets from the sun on a scale of 1:4 billion with small metal signs along the path. The observatory fittingly represents the sun.
