The Puy Ferrand, summit of the Sancy massif, dominates the Chaudefour valley. If it does not have the fame of Puy Sancy with the general public, it has nevertheless won its gallons with mountaineers. A cracking 19km horseshoe taking in all the high points of the mont dore area of Auvergne including Puy De Sancy at 1885m. Plenty of parking at the start point, even for motor homes. Excellent route.
