Is the Crête du puy de Cliergue et du rocher de l'Hor suitable for family hikes?

While the ridge offers breathtaking views, some sections require good physical conditioning and sure-footedness. For families with younger children or those seeking easier walks, it's recommended to research specific routes. Look for trails described as accessible or less challenging, as the full ridge traverse might be too demanding for all family members.

Are dogs allowed on the trails of Crête du puy de Cliergue et du rocher de l'Hor?

Generally, dogs are permitted on many trails in the Massif du Sancy, but it's crucial to keep them on a leash, especially in areas with grazing livestock (like Salers cows) or protected wildlife. The entire ridge offers expansive 360-degree panoramic views. From Puy de Cliergue, you can see Puy de Sancy, Puy Ferrand, Puy Redon, the distant Cantal mountains, and the glacial valley of Mont-Dore.
