From here you can do a mudflat hike to Langeness when the weather and the tide (low tide and low tide) are favorable. There are a few things to keep in mind: Oland and Langeneß are connected by a lorendamm with the mainland, which begins below the dike in Dagebüll. The dam helps to orientate on this hike: within sight of the nine kilometer long dam you can walk without a guide through the mudflats (not too close, there the ground is soft). You should leave Dagebüll for three hours before low tide (tide calendar: bit.ly/dagebuell). The walk through the watt takes about four hours. After three hours you reach the eastern tip of Langeness. Walk only in good visibility, not alone and not when fog is predicted! Take the compass and cell phone with you. In summer you can go barefoot, but you must pay attention to sharp-edged shells. Most suitable are neoprene shoes.
From Langeneß you can continue with the ferry to Amrum, if you reach the pier in time. The Wyker steamship shipping company (faehre.de) and the Eagle ships (adler-schiffe.de) drive between islands, Halligen and mainland.
