The old ski hill of the Blaarmeersen was renamed 'the Karel Sabbeberg'. It is in recognition of some epic achievements. On August 28, 2018, Sabbe completed the legendary 3,500 kilometer Appalachian Trail in 41 days, 7 hours and 39 minutes. A world record.
The mountain is 38 meters high, has 184 steps and a slope of 22.4%.
