Brende Mølle is the millpond, now restored as a wetland. Bypass and fish ladders allow animals to roam freely through the area.

The Brendedamm has been using hydroelectric power since the 16th century - most recently from 1912 to the end of the 1970s. It has now come to an end and the buildings have been restored to their original appearance.

After 400 years of damming up, a valuable wetland was created at the Mühlteich, which also prevented the free movement of fauna.

A completely new project was started in order to meet both the wishes for the preservation of the barrier and those for a green bridge. A water bypass and a fish ladder were built south of the pond. The fish ladder and green bridge were laid out in the summer of 1990, and the public can explore the beautiful natural area via laid-out paths.
