      The artist Frits Jeuris has designed a unique creation made up of dozens of felled fruit trees from the region.



      The latest platform offers a bit more. It is encased in “Helsh(ea)ven”, a work of art made up of 90 fifty-year-old tall-stemmed cherry trees. In late 2016, they fell prey to the Little Cherry Virus, an infectious plant disease that causes undersized fruit in cherries. Now the felled trees have a second life. The work symbolizes the dynamic landscape of Haspengouw.



      Besides the abbey tower, the ‘Viersprong’ in Nieuwenhoven, the Honsberg in Zepperen and the viewing basin in Velm, it is also the fifth viewing point along the Haspengouw road network.
