Interesting place with the historic hub and the new marina at the exit to Plauer See as highlights

The city is beautifully situated on Plauer See and Elde. The castle museum in the castle tower built around 1550 provides information about the history. Also worth a visit is the Protestant town church with a Lübeck carved altar from the year 1500. On the Elde are the chicken ladder (so-called because of their peculiar stages) and the highest lift bridge Mecklenburg (1.67 m) from 1917 worth seeing.

Worth seeing place with a beautiful town center and the historic lift bridge. Everywhere cafes and restaurants invite you to linger, great promenade along the Müritz - Elde - waterway. Nice lighthouse with a viewing platform on the pier.
