This chapel in Kalikutt is dedicated to Saint Joseph, the nursing father of Jesus Christ. Like Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, he is a man on the threshold from the Old to the New Testament. Joseph was from the house of David, one of the twelve tribes of Israel. He was a carpenter by trade and the fiancé of the Blessed Mother Mary.
The feast day of Saint Joseph in the saints calendar is on March 19th, and on May 1st the church celebrates the feast of "Joseph the Worker".

Very beautifully made and renovated chapel with benches outside.

The chapel was founded by the former landlord of the mountain inn "Hotel Kalikutt" Ludwig Schmiederer and his wife Paula. The foundation stone was laid on St. Joseph's Day (March 19) 1990 and the consecration took place six months later. The chapel was built by Ludwig Schmiederer in honor of his parents and grandparents and as a memorial for the 17 Kalikutt soldiers who died in the two world wars. The little church is 6.4 meters long and 4.4 meters wide and has a hipped roof with a ridge turret. The ornaments on the altar demonstrate the stonemason's art. You can see the symbols of the evangelists, five loaves of bread and two fish as a symbol of the feeding of the five thousand, as well as the five wise and five foolish virgins.
