On this part of the route you walk alongside a dry meander of the Oude Nete. In 1895 the Kleine Nete was straightened at this location. Now it is a quiet walking path that winds next to the old river bed.

The Olens Broek is a beautiful nature reserve. The domain offers a variety of biotopes and hikers have access to a landscaped footpath in places that are sometimes less easily accessible in the winter. This allows them to enjoy a chunk of nature in the Olense Nete Valley.

In the north, the Olens Broek is bordered by the Kleine Nete and by the drifting dunes of the Kempen Heuvelrug. In the west it adjoins the Langendonk (Herentals) nature reserve. In the south is the rural residential core of De Bleek, while a number of meadows of Roerdompstraat form the eastern border.

On the other side of the Kleine Nete, the Olens Broek forms a whole with the fens around the Snepkensvijver. Within a radius of five kilometers are the Flemish nature reserves Zwart Water, Kempense Heuvelrug and Mosselgoren and the reserves De Zegge, Neerhelst and Snepkensvijver.
