The monument "Steinerner Mann" stands in the Schwedenholz on the Dürrenberg, at an altitude of about 610 m above sea level. The summit of the Dürrenberg is at 656 m, just outside the municipal corridor. If you drive from Wolfsbronn to Kurzenaltheim, after about two thirds of this road there is a sign pointing to the forest. From here it is about 1.5 km to the "Stone Man". The last few meters have to be covered on foot.

In her local history of Kurzenaltheim Siglinde Buchner writes (page 156): "In October 1820 Joh. Georg Westphal had an accident in Schwedenholz on the Dürrenberg. He brought a cart full of stones down the slope and got both feet under the wheels. Two days later he succumbed his injuries.

A narrow, approx. 130 cm high memorial column with a stone human head was erected at the site of the accident. During a dispute around 1900, the head was cut off and buried. In July 1994 Fritz Kleemann (born 1927 in Kurzenaltheim, resident in Berolzheim) renovated the memorial, placing a self-carved head made of dark red sandstone on it. The memorial has long been called the 'Stone Man'. "

The 130 cm high square stone column with head was erected in memory of Joh. Georg Westphal, who died in an accident in October 1820, in the Schwedenholz on the Dürrenberg.
