Ski touring
The Herrgottschnitzer Hut on Kampstein is located at around 1,300 meters above sea level and is one of the eastern refuge huts in the Alpine arc.
Hikers and ski tourers can reach the Herrgottschnitzer Hut in about 1 to 1.5 hours from St. Corona or Unterstberg or, as I did, on the descent from Kampstein.
The original structure of the hut has almost been left untouched for over 100 years, which perhaps explains the very special atmosphere at the Herrgottschnitzer hut - a decelerated zone that is worth hiking.
