The Medewitz Church was built in 1713 in the Baroque style. The client was the church patron Hans Friedrich Brandt von Lindau. The church was built in place of a previous building. The previous building dates from the 14th century and was a stone church typical of the area. It was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. Most of the wooden furnishings in the church date back to when it was built.
