The Piloersemaborg dates from 1633. Nobody knows where the name comes from. One of the suspicions is that it is derived from the Pijloetsem family, who lived near Den Ham in the 15th century. However, most people call this deposit the Hamsterborg. The Piloersema or Hamsterborg near Den Ham (1633) is a unique monument in the Groninger Ommelanden. The old house has retained its distinguished character over the centuries. Generously situated behind a wide canal and hidden between tree-lined canals, the borg rises from the flat land behind Den Ham. Now a Bed & Breakfast and a location that you can rent for a wedding or other event.
