The castle dates from the Middle Ages and is one of the most important architectural monuments in the district of Cuxhaven. The castle is now home to an archeology museum and a restaurant.
The museum is open from May to September every day except Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from October to April every day except Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry costs € 3.
