In addition to the beautiful half-timbered houses, Steinweiler also has an eventful but also a painful history. Here is an interesting link: google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwj0z-aHg4z2AhVdSPEDHUVBC14QFnoECA4QAw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.steinweiler.eu %2Fsteinweiler%2Fhistory%2F&usg=AOvVaw22C5WYERDhVpZ5ltKrVLwT

The Kreuzgasse in Steinweiler leads past the Protestant church and offers many spruced up half-timbered houses. On November 10, 968, Emperor Otto the Great issued a document in which he donated the Steinweiler farm in Speiergau to his wife Adelheid. The settlement was probably built around the year 600.
Until 1955, wastewater was still disposed of through the village ditches.
Today Steinweiler is a typical residential community.
