Nylars Kirke, one of Bornholm's four famous round churches, stands as a testament to medieval architecture and local history. Built in the 12th century, these unique churches served not only as places of worship but also as defensive structures, offering refuge during times of conflict. Nylars, in particular, is one of the best-preserved examples, its whitewashed walls and conical roof a striking sight against the Bornholm landscape. The interior features impressive frescoes depicting biblical scenes, adding another layer of historical and artistic significance to this ancient site.
