The Adler- und Wolfspark Kasselburg is an absolute highlight and definitely worth a visit. But the castle is also a great hiking destination and a gastronomic point for non-visitors.

The Kasselburg castle ruins stand on a basalt hill above the town of Pelm. The castle was built in the 12th century. The still preserved symbol of the castle is its impressive 37 meter high double tower. The Eagle and Wolf Park Kasselburg is located in and around the castle ruins.

Hiking

The castle was built in the 12th century. Their builders may have been the lords of Castel, but this is not entirely certain. The castle was first mentioned in documents in 1291 as Castilburg, and in 1314 it was called Castelberch.
