In the middle of the historic center of Roudnice on the Elbe is one of the largest castles in the Czech Republic. It was built in the 17th century in place of a Romanesque fortress and planned by Swiss-Italian builders.

The building was badly damaged during World War II and has since been restored. Today, among other things, there is the military music school in it.
