Bike Touring Highlight
The "leaning tower" of Schleswig can be seen on almost every picture.
At the top there is a small coffee restaurant with wonderful views of Schleswig and the Schlei.

From here you have over the loop across the entire skyline of Schleswig very well in view.

From here you have a view of the entire city. A short photo stop is worth it!

Along the Schlei and away from the noisy street, there is a view of the Glass Palace and the port of Schleswig.

Nice tour about 40km around the loop with crossing by ferry in Bordersby / Missunde (very iconic ferryman). The route leads via Schleswig almost only on bike paths, paths, a small trail and very often on the shores of the loop long.
After the ferry is worth a break at the "Naschikönig", a somewhat grumpy gentleman about felt 1000 sweets.

There is always a lot to see on the loop. That was already between 700 and 1060 AD. Haitabu, the old trading post of the Vikings on the Schlei, was an important trading center for long-distance trade between Scandinavia, Western Europe, the North Sea Region and the Baltic States. In June 2018, Haitabu and Danewerk have been designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites!
And if you are lucky, then you can still find Vikings in Haitabu, or discover the typical Viking boat on the Schlei. ;-)
