It's also lovely in December to enjoy the sunset from the top and then stroll through the Christmas market below. The walkway is subtly illuminated then.
Be sure to also visit the information center in Handthal, which features changing exhibitions and activities. A pleasant footpath and gravel bike path lead directly there from the treetop walkway.
