    Hiking

    The fictional figure of Dietemann - part of the art clock and symbolic figure of the city of Eschwege - is a tower guard with a halberd. During the day it blows every full hour on a tour around the spiers.

    A little town lies on the banks of the Werra,
    on the banks of the Werra, on the banks of the Werra,
    there a man blows from the tower into the land,
    a little man blows into the land;
    and because he can blow so beautifully,
    that's why they call him the Dietemann,
    that's why they call him the Dietemann,
    the Diete-Dietemann.

    The Dietemann - the landmark of Eschwege

    The Dietemann embodies the symbolic figure of the district town of Eschwege. He resides in the Eschwege landgrave's castle and is, so to speak, part of the art clock that is integrated into the roof lantern of the tower-like extension of the castle, known as the "pavilion".
    The pavilion was built between 1615 and 1617, according to a coat of arms recognizable west wing. The landmark itself was inaugurated on July 2, 1927.
