The history of Kranjska Gora dates back to the second half of the 14th century, when the inhabitants began to cut down the local forests on a larger scale and convert them into fields for agriculture and pastures for sheep and cattle.

Kranjska Gora is primarily known as a winter sports resort in the Julian Alps. The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, also known as the Vitranc Cup, is held here annually, in slalom and giant slalom. The famous Planica ski jump is located in the nearby Tamar Valley.

You can see Kransjka Gora beautifully here, but it is all a bit overgrown with trees so you have to look between the trees.
